Here is Andrae Crouch with This footage taken from an afternoon around the pianoat the church Andrae & Sandra Crouch pastor in Pacoima, CA...with Mavis Staples, Bryan Wilson, Tata Vega, Ann McCrary and Mavis' sister Yvonne of The Staple Singers. Andrae wrote on the spot.

Beauty and suffering
no eye has seen
watercolour photographs
not what they seem
for the death on the cross
and the pain for the lost
is not a pretty picture
but we see his face
when I see him there
the love he gave
when I see he cared
with the drops of blood
down his face
there is beauty in his suffering
there is love in his eyes
there is pain in his weeping
there is glory in his sacrifice
Oh father nothing on earth below
has ever been so beautiful
nothing has touched my heart
in quite the same way
Oh father why did he do it
cannot understand the reason
why except for beauty in his suffering
peace and joy in his eyes there is victory
hope in death and sadness has been crucified
Oh what beauty never seen on this earth below
as the picture forms a glorious glow

Beauté et souffrance
nul oeil n’a vu
comme des photos en couleur
mais sans banalité
car la mort sur la croix
et la douleur
pour les perdus
n’est pas une jolie image
mais nous voyons son visage
quand je le vois là
l’amour qu’il a donné
avec les gouttes de sang
qui coulent le long de son visage
il y a de la beauté
dans sa souffrance
il y a de l’amour dans ses yeux
il y a de la douleur dans ses larmes
il y a de la gloire dans son sacrifice
O père rien sur la terre ici bas
n’a été si beau
rien n’a touché mon coeur de cette façon
O père pourquoi l’a t’il fait
je ne comprends pas la raison
sauf pour la beauté dans sa souffrance
la paix et la joie dans ses yeux
il y a la victoire
il y a l’espoir dans la mort
et la tristesse est crucifiée
O quelle beauté jamais vue sur cette terre
