Latest: Delirious have been touring in China as you can see from the picture of Martin Smith on the Great Wall above and here. Despite the chinese governement's control over some of their material, there was a very positive reception from the crowd as Martin shared here: "We had to submit 25 songs to the Chinese government for approval and they only approved 9! All songs with Jesus and revolution were taken out . . . The crowd were fantastic, seeing local Beijing faces was brilliant and something well never forget." (Delirious site - 27 JANUARY 2009) Another part of Delirious' tour in Asia was an emotional visit to the Mumbai Medical Centre which was built with money from the sales of the "Kingdom of Comfort" album. Delirious share this, "our hearts got broken. Simple as that. With mothers trapped in the commercial sex trade their kids have a bleak future. And so, we promised to give a royalty of every sale of our last record to help . . . This represents a new life for them, leaving behind prostitution, learning a domestic trade, studying . . . The gospel of Christ is simple, simple and simple. As I stood before 30 prostitutes and their kids I had a smile the width of India and thought to myself how much fun I'm having even before I leave this planet." It went well. Johanan's play will be taking place at the SALMIGONDIS theatre and will be the 8th Annual Festival of Arts organized by "Universatil" set up by the Louvain-La-Neuve University theatre Company. You will find more details of Johanan's play here. Our niece will be flying over from Geneva on Monday just in time for the production and Tim will be over on Sunday.

Pray for Randhir Malhotra and Kritanu Sarin who where attacked and robbed before the showing of a film on Jesus. 10.Our niece Lizzie's "swimmaton" for the Marie Curie Cancer Care. 11.Thanks for the youth retreat with David and Lydie which went well.

Le gouvernement chinois a contrôlé certains chants en interdisant les chants contenant les mots "Jésus" et "Révolution". La foule a été très réceptive et a exprimé leur joie. Martin partage ceci: "Nous avons soumis 25 chants au gouvernement chinois pour leur approbation mais ils n'ont accepté que 9 sur les 25 chants! Tous les chants contenant le mot 'Jésus' ou 'révolution' furent supprimés . . . La foule était fantastique, quelle joie de voir les visages des gens de Beijing et ce serait un souvenir inoubliable." (Site Delirious - 27 janvier 2009) L'apogée de la tournée de Delirious en Asie fut une visite émotive au Centre Médical de Mumbai construit avec le don d'argent récolté lors de la vente de leur dernier album "Kingdom of Comfort". Delirious partage ceci, "Nos coeurs furent brisés. Aussi simple que cela. Les mamans se trouvant dans le piège de la prostitution, et leurs enfants face à un avenir sans espoir. Le centre fut construit suite à notre promesse d'offrir un pourcentage de chaque album vendu (Kingdom of Confort 2008) . . . cela représente une vie nouvelle pour les femmes qui peuvent quitter la prostitution, apprendre un métier, étudier . . . la bonne nouvelle du Christ est simple, simple, simple. Quand je me suis retrouvé entouré de 30 prostituées et leurs enfants devant le centre, j'avais un large sourire comparable au pays entier de l'Inde ;oD je me suis dit que je m'amusais tellement à ce moment précis, même avant de quitter cette planète !" Il s'agit de la neuvième édition d’UNIVERSATIL, Festival de Théâtre et des Arts de la Scène de Louvain-La-Neuve, que l’ASBL du Théâtre Universitaire de Louvain (TUL) créa en 2001. Vous trouverez plus de détails de la production ici. Notre nièce arrive en avion de Genève ce lundi pour assister à la pièce et Tim sera avec nous dimanche.
