Latest: We managed to get to Antwerp on Friday evening when Wayne invited us to a gig he was playing and put us on his guest list. We picked up Melody at the Bouge Institut Médico-pédagogique "en route" then picked Johanan at the Louvain-la-Neuve University before going onto Antwerp. We managed to a spend a few minutes with Wayne before his sound-check following his 10 hour journey from Munich, and spend time during the first part when "Bottle of Moonshine" was introducing the first part of the ska-jazz evening. Following the concert, we were also able to share some time together before we finally left around midnight loaded with gifts of a CD (new album out a few weeks ago) and t-shirts. Do pray that God would be present with Wayne and that he would be a witness during the rest of the tour. As I mentioned previously, you can listen to some stuff from the "New York Ska Jazz Ensemble" here. For those of you who are interested, I have known Wayne since we were both in the same church and youth-group. Wayne came to our wedding in Belgium and we next saw him when he did a gig in Bruges nearly 20 yrs later. He had spent many years playing jazz in New York. We have continued to keep in touch and pray for each other by email and by phone. Wayne is amazed to see how God has led him over these past years. He is at present in a fellowship in NY and plays in two worship groups as well as teach music at a christian college / university. I will post the dates of the current tour below so you can pray for him. There are nearly 30 gigs and apparently fewer than the last tour in the summer with 49 venues ;oD As you can see, they do travel to a different country nearly every two days or so !

Dernières nouvelles: Nous sommes arrivés à Anvers le vendredi soir pour un concert ska-jazz auquel Wayne nous a invité. Il nous a mis sur sa liste d'invités :oD En passant par l'Institut Médico-pédagogique à Bouge pour chercher Melody, nous avons retrouvé Johanan à l'Université de Louvain-la-Neuve avant de partir vers Anvers. Suite à un long voyage de 10 heures, Wayne est arrivé de Munich et nous avons pu passer un petit temps ensemble avant le "sound-check" (vérification du son) et pendant que le groupe ska-jazz "Bottle of Moonshine" jouai et occupait la première partie du concert. Suite au concert, nous avons pris plus de temps pour partager avant de revenir à la maison avec en cadeau un nouveau CD et des t-shirts. Priez pour que Dieu accompagne Wayne pour la suite de la tournée afin qu'il soit un témoin. Si cela vous intéresse : J'ai grandi avec Wayne à l'église et dans le groupe de jeunes à Londres. Wayne est venu à notre mariage en Belgique mais ensuite il est parti à New York pour faire du jazz. Nous sommes allés le voir à Bruges lors de son dernier concert en Belgique. Ayant gardé le contact via email et par téléphone, il nous a recontacté pour qu'on se revoit lors de la tournée actuelle. Wayne s'émerveille de voir comment Dieu l'a conduit ces dernières années. Il est actuellement dans une église à New York et il est souvent invité à jouer avec les groupes de louange dans deux églises lorsqu'il n'est pas en tournée. Il donne des cours de musique dans une université chrétienne également. Je vais afficher les dates de la tournée actuelle ci-dessous afin que vous puissiez prier pour lui. La liste comporte presque 30 concerts ce qui est peu comparée à sa tournée cet été où il avait 49 concerts!

It looks like our trip to hear and hopefully meet up with Wayne at Antwerp is turning into quite an adventure. We will be setting off tomorrow to pick up Melody from the Medical Centre where she is doing her placement at Namur, then go by Louvain-La-Neuve to pick up Johanan following Uni lectures and then set off via Brussels to Antwerp. We mentioned that the "New York Ska Jazz Ensemble" will be touring in several countries including the TRIX Muziek centrum in Antwerp. You will also find some of the group's music here. We will also be going to hear our friend Wayne during his month long european jazz tour with the "New York Ska Jazz Ensemble" playing at the TRIX in Antwerp. It will be great meeting Wayne and seeing him again! We also saw Rach and her friends Debbie and Kathryn, together with Nay and Matt who visited Belgium for four days last week. We spent a great time together ;oD I have just given the "downhere" album as a christmas greeting to staff and directors in different schools and colleges, with the permission and blessing of the group. I pray that they would receive something from the translated lyrics.

Family News for prayer! Johanan is working hard for uni. Alison has more chinese exams and Alexi begins exams on thursday so he has to dust off his suit for the oral exams ! Melody has to make some progress in her final year dissertation as well as doing her placements. We will be in England for Christmas and the New Year but Melody and Alexi will be travelling back after a week whilst we stay on.
