The picture above was sent to me by a friend of Bono of U2 in deep conversion with Ruth Graham Bell, wife of evangelist Billy Graham, before she passed away. I will give you a summary of activities during the summer months. Johanan is the only one left who has an exam this coming Monday. It's the big wait before the results. Thanks for your prayers. Alison is back home after her exams before returning to Geneva at the end of July to prepare for her voyage to China. Alison has received a partial grant from the Chinese Embassy for the course at the University in China but will have to pay living expenses herself. Thanks for praying for our niece, Sarah's operation, as all went well. I will be speaking next week-end at the church in the Borinage which was an important the mining area in the french-speaking part of Belgium before the industry shut-down as in many parts of Europe. We will be in Geneva for our niece Sarah-Emmanuelle's wedding to Christophe at the end of July and we are also invited to a former student Jean-Yves and Sarah's wedding in early August . All three Sarahs are different people ;o) My sister Ruth & Robin and family will be visiting us in Belgium at the beginning of August. We will be in Watford in Mid-August when we will be at the Berrymead church in London where I will be sharing. As I mentioned previously, our friends who worked in our team at the youth camp, Lydie, husband David, and brother Lucas, leave for this week-end for their Madagascar Ministry Trip. Regular news will be available on their Madagascar News Site.

Un ami m'a envoyé l'image ci-dessus de Bono de U2 qui partageait avec Ruth Graham Bell, épouse d'évangéliste Billy Graham, peu avant son décès. Voici quelques nouvelles pour les prochains mois. Johanan est le seul qui passe un dernier examen ce lundi. Les autres ont terminé leurs examens. C'est l'attente avant les résultats. Merci pour vos prières. Alison vient de rentrer à la maison avant de repartir pour Genève d'ici la fin du mois de juillet afin de préparer son voyage en Chine. Alison a reçu une confirmation de la bourse offerte par l'Embassade de China pour le minerval à l'Université en Chine mais elle doit payer tous les autres frais. erci d'avoir prié pour notre nièce Sarah, son opération s'est bien déroulée. Je dois apporter un message le week-end prochain dans une église située dans Le Borinage. Ensuite, nous serons à Genève vers la fin du mois de juillet pour le mariage de notre nièce Sarah-Emmanuelle avec Christophe. Nous sommes également invités au mariage d'un ancien étudiant Jean-Yves et Sarah au début du mois d'août. Il s'agit de trois "Sarah" différentes ;o) Ma soeur Ruth & son mari Robin et leur famille nous rendront visite en Belgique au mois d'août. Nous serons à Watford à la mi-août et je dois aussi faire le culte à l'église de Londres Berrymead church pendant notre séjour en Angleterre. Comme je vous ai mentionné précédemment, nos amis collaborateurs dans l'équipe pour le camps des jeunes, Lydie, son mari David, et son frère Lucas, partent ce week-end en voyage missionnaire à Madagascar. The picture above was sent to me by a friend of Bono of U2 in deep conversion with Ruth Graham Bell, wife of evangelist Billy Graham, before she passed away. Bono was reading a book of irish poetry which contained one of his poems where he mentions the influence of Billy Graham on his life. The book is currently in the Billy Graham Library. The photo is part of a beautiful collection in memory of Ruth Graham bell which you can look at in following this link. I will give you a summary of activities during the summer months. The picture above is a new form of art called "Inner city snail" a slow-moving street-art done on snails where people could admire the art-work whenever they come across one of these creature ;o) You can have a look at their site on the link above. My name was painted on the snail but it isn't me ;o) They apparently use non-toxic paints. Some snail-keepers actually use nail enamel to repair the cracked shells so apparently it should be fine. Another week or so of exams before the kids finish exams. Following the floods in Sri-Lanka here are some pictures of the aid through the GFA (Gospel for Asia) ministries. Our friends who worked in our team at the youth camp these past few years will be leaving for their Madagascar Ministry Trip which is part of their course at Bible College.

L'image ci-dessus montre une forme d'art qui s'appelle "Inner city snail" a slow-moving street-art (l'art sur des coquilles d'escargots) des touristes en ville peuvent admirer les oeuvres d'art en croisant un escargot peint ;o) Vous pouvez jeter un coup d'oeil sur le site en suivant le lien ci-dessus. Bien que mon nom figure sur l'image, il s'agit d'un autre John ;o) Les peintures employées sont non-toxiques. Encore une semaine avant la fin des examens pour les enfants. Suite aux inondations au Sri-Lanka voici quelques images de l'aide humanitaire apportée par la mission GFA (Gospel for Asia) ministries. Nos amis, étudiants à l'école biblique et nos collaborateurs dans l'équipe pour le camps des jeunes, partent pour un voyage missionnaire Madagascar Ministry Trip dans le cadre de leurs études.

Michael Melles whom I mentioned, works with H.I.M. (Helps International Ministries) in Ethiopia and you can either have a look at his site by clicking on this link to H.I.M. or on the image above. There is no specific news on the page, but just his name mentioned. There are some news of his fellow missionaries in Ethiopia. Do continue to pray for the children who are sitting exams. I will leave the link to the free album that Downhere are offering for a bit longer which you can get by clicking on this link here. You will receive a zip file which you will have to unzip. The band have also included the CD leaflet with lyrics for you to print out. I have also put a link here to a teaching given by Zac Poonen which I found interesting on the "Characteristics of the Anti-Christ". I remember hearing Zac preach as a kid and was touched by his humility. I exchanged letters with him not too long ago.

Downhere are offering their album free if you either click on the picture or on this link here. You will receive a zip file which you will have to unzip. The band have also included the CD leaflet with lyrics for you to print out. Melody, Johanan and Alison are right in the middle of exams with Alexi due to begin next Monday. Thanks for your prayers. I met Michel, a relative of christian friends, at the last baptism I spoke at. He has been working as a missionary for the past 30 years and has spent many years in Ethiopia. Michel knew our friend, Andy, who was a missionary in Ethiopia working as a civil engineer and who died in the plane crash several years ago which was featured on the main BBC news. Michel is involved in building homes for the ethiopian people and lives among the poor and the needy. An interesting project he has been involved in over the past few years is to sell handicrafts in Europe, made by the ethiopians, by personally bringing it over in a suitcase when he comes over, thus cutting out the middleman with revenue going directly to the ethiopians. Michel told me that he often pays transport costs himself. His aim is to keep the project small and not deal in big quantities. If you are interesting in knowing more do let me know. I will be receiving more details soon.

Melody, Johanan et Alison se trouvent en plein examen tandis qu'Alexi commence lundi prochain. Merci pour vos prières. J'ai rencontré Michel (frère de nos amis chrétiens) lors du dernier baptême où j'ai apporté un message. Il travaille comme missionnaire depuis 30 ans et a passé plusieurs années en Ethiopie. Michel connaissait bien notre ami Andy, missionnaire et ingénieur civil en Ethiopie, qui est décédé suite à un accident d'avion il y a plusieurs années (rapporté sur plusieurs chaines de télé - ex. la BBC). Michel travaille parmi les pauvres et les gens dans le besoin et construit des maisons pour eux. Un projet intéressant qu'il a démarré ces dernières années est de vendre des produits artisanaux en Europe fabriqué par les éthiopiens eux-mêmes. Michel amène lui-même les produits dans une valise lors de l'une ou l'autre visite en Europe afin d'éviter tout frais inutile et permettre aux artisans de recevoir un revenu décent. Il lui arrive parfois de payer certains frais de sa poche. Son but est de ne pas vendre en grande quantité. Si cela vous intéresse vous pouvez me le signaler. J'aurai plus de nouvelles bientôt de sa part.
