Andrae Crouch (on of the pionneers in gospel music) will be singing at the Ealing Christian Centre which is not very far from our home and just opposite the secondary school I used to go to ;o) Check it out here. I actually was at the Andrae Crouch concert at the Hammersmith Apollo when they recorded their album "Live in London" and then heard them up in Newcastle at the end of that same year as a student. Andrae became a pastor when his parents died and had to take over the church but has a great story about his calling. He was dislexic but when he sang he was not the same and his piano playing is also miraculous - watch the video here. You can check out his whole career here and the list of musicians he has worked with is amazing plus the 9 grammy awards! His first group was the Church of God in Christ Singers (COGICS) in 1960, which included Billy Preston who later played organ for Ray Charles, Little Richard, The Beatles and Eric Clapton ... Crouch founded the Disciples in 1965 with Perry Morgan, Bili Thedford ... ... (others include) Danniebelle Hall, Fletch Wiley, Harlan Rogers, drummer Bill Maxwell, Kathy Hazzard, Bea Carr, James Felix ... featuring on the Johnny Carson Show, Hollywood Bowl, Carnegie Hall ... and toured 68 countries... continuing to work with Walter & Tramaine Hawkins, Jessy Dixon, The Winans,BeBe & CeCe Winans, The Clark Sisters, Wintley Phipps, Anointed, Israel Houghton, Howard Smith, Linda McCrary, Tata Vega, Kristle MurdenJoe Sample, Wilton Felder, Dean Parks, David Porcaro, Phillip Bailey, Stevie Wonder, and has a star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame. God used one little dislexic boy!

Andrae Crouch (un des pionniers du gospel) chante au Ealing Christian Centre à Londres, en face de mon école secondaire à Londres et à quelques minutes de chez nous (quand j'habitais dans le coin) ;o)vous pouvez voir les détails ici. J'ai assisté au concert d'Andrae Crouch il y a très longtemps quand il a enregistré son album "Live in London" au Hammersmith Apollo et ensuite à Newcastle à la fin de l'année quand j'étais étudiant. Andrae est devenu pasteur suite au décès de ses parents quand il y avait personne pour reprendre l'église. L'histoire de son appel est assez incroyable vu qu'il était dislexique mais chantait sans problème. Dieu lui donne le don du piano. La vidéo de son histoire en anglais se trouve ici. Sa carrière est résumée ici et la liste de musiciens qui ont travaillé avec lui incluent pas mal de grands noms. On discerne 9 prix "grammy awards" à Andrae! As I mentioned, my friend Wayne informed me that he will be playing with the NYSJE at the Dour Festival during their European Tour 2010 - the group last played at Dour in 2007. Here is another vid of the group in Paris

I posted this some time ago, but this is a friend, Youssef, from missionary college who has a ministry in his native Algeria at the "House of Hope". We used to put Johanan in his wife Hie Tee's room (at that time they were not married as yet) at college when he was a baby! More on Youssef : -Youssef Ourahmane: interview by a magazine with our friend from missionary college. (freely circulated in public with no confidentiality) Youssef first heard the gospel at 21 yrs of age....what challenged him the most was that the lives of the christians were totally different from other westerners. They had a tremendous love for God and he wanted that too. His faith in islam was challenged. During a second trip to Europe he decided to give his life to Christ. ...During his military service he began to coach a football team where he made many friends from governement officials to his local street cleaner. Yousef believes that sport is an amazing missionary tool. "There is a real need of missionaries who are good coaches of football, swimming, tennis, golf, etc. Physiotherapists and those in sports medicine are also very important," Youssef declares, "They are great missionaries because when a player gets hurt they have a lot of time to listen". "Like football, church planting in the muslim world is a team sport. Mission colleges do need to start attracting people who are very good in their sport and can be missionaries as sportsmen and women. A lot of mission organisations haven't yet thought of sports as a missionary activity, but it is up and coming. We are all part of a team." ...In 1996,...Youssef started the House of Hope in Algeria...which consists of 17 adults and 4 children, have begun a leadership and discipleship programme. In the summer they also hold a children's camp and a marriage and family couselling camp."The government is realising that the real threat to them is from the islamic fundamentalists not the christians," explained Youssef. Also, since September 11th they realise the importance of building a good image with the West. The authorities have said that anyone is free to become a christian though they have have warned us not to do any mass media or evangelism. "We need to seize this opportunity we have now! At the moment what we have in Algeria is a miracle from God!" "Never at any other time in the history of missions has the time been right, as it is now, to be a missionary to Algeria. Both the challenges and rewards are huge!" - .

Voici un ami de l'école missionaire,
,Youssef, qui a un ministère en Algérie à la "House of Hope" (maison d'espoir).
Quand nous étions étudiants, Johanan dormait dans sa poussette dans la chambre
de sa femme Hie Tee (ils n'étaient pas encore mariés à l'époque):
- Youssef Ourahmane : interview avec notre ami du collège missionaire pour un journal
(libre distribution en publique pas confidentiel) Youssef entend parler de la bonne
nouvelle à 21 ans....ce qui l'a touché c'est que les chrétiens se montraient très
différents des autres occidentaux. Ils possédaient un amour réel pour Dieu et il
désirait l'avoir également. C'était un défi face à sa foi islamique. Pendant un
deuxième voyage en Europe il a donné sa vie à Christ. Pendant son service militaire
il a commencé à entraîner l'équipe de foot à l'armée et a fait beaucoup d'amis parmi
les officiers du gouvernement et même avec son balayeur de rue. Youssef croit que
le sport représente un outil missionnaire efficace. "On a vraiment besoin des
missionnaires qui sont des bons entraîneurs de foot, de natation, du tennis,
du gold. Les kinésithérapeutes et ceux qui travail dans la médecine sportive
sont très importants," déclara Youssef, "Ce sont des missionnaires extraordinaires parce que quand un sportif est blessé, il est prêt à écouter". "Tout comme le foot l'implantation d'une église dans le monde arabe est un travail d'équipe. Les écoles missionnaires doivent attirer des gens qui sont des bons sportifs et qui peuvent être des missionnaires éfficaces. Plusieurs organisations missionnaires ne considèrent pas encore le sport comme faisant partie de l'oeuvre missionnaire mais ils commencent à comprendre l'importance et nous sommes en ce sens une équipe." ...En 1996,...Youssef commença la maison d'Espoir en Algérie. ..avec 17 adultes et 4 enfants, ils ont commencé un programme de formation de disciple et des responsables. En été ils organisent un camp pour enfants et un camps pour la relation d'aide aux couples. "Le gouvernement se rendait compte que le vrai danger ne vient pas des chrétiens mais des fondamentalistes islamiques," expliqua Youssef. Aussi, depuis le 11 september les pays arabes voient limportance de construire une belle image avec les pays occidentaux. Les autorités islamiques permettent aux gens de devenir chrétiens mais pas employer les médias pour faire de l'évangélisation. "Nous devrions saisir l'occasion qui se présente à nous maintenant! Pour l'instant les occasions que nous avons en Algérie sont une porte ouverte que Dieu nous donne!" "Jamais auparavant dans l'histoire des missions avions nous eu une telle occasion comme à présent pour devenir missionnaire en Algérie. Les défis et les récompenses sont nombreux!" .

Mon ami Wayne m'a contacté pour dire qu'il joue avec NYSJE au Festival de Dour cette année dans le cadre de leur Tounée Européene 2010 - le groupe avait joué à Dour précédemment en 20077. YVous pouvez regarder qqs images de Dour 2007 via le line ci-dessous

Here is the Atlanta Christian Festival
here. with a video here. Atlanta Fest, presented by Chick-fil-A, voted 2009 "Festival of the Year" in fan voting at the Gospel Music Channel, will be held June 16-19, 2010 at Stone Mountain Park. 2010 Artists and speakers include Skillet, Newsboys, Family Force 5, Red, Matthew West, Tenth Avenue North,Superchick, Britt Nicole, Seventh Day Slumber, Fireflight, Disciple, Sanctus Real, downhere, Canton Jones, Remedy Drive, Phil Stacey (American Idol finalist), Addison Road, Abandon, Echoing Angels, House Of Heroes, Kids in the Way, Sevenglory, Jason Gray, Chasen, Josh Wilson and speakers Nick Vujicic, Joseph Rojas and Matt Pitt. All told, there will be over 75 artists and speakers.Atlanta Fest strives to create an environment in which students and families can deepen, or even discover their faith through contemporary Christian music and relevant Bible teaching.The music is supplemented by praise and worship times and talks by some of the nation’s leading Christian speakers, as well a daily Biblesstudies, seminars on Christian living, and FREE camping. Back for its ninth year, the Atlanta Fest “Prayer Path,” which gives participants an opportunity to encounter God on a personal level, will be offered free on an advance-reservation basis. Each Atlanta Fest ticket also includes a Stone Mountain Park “All Attractions Pass.” Back for its second year (and included in the price of an "ALL EVENT" ticket) is a special Wednesday night concert (featuring SUPERCHICK) followed by the Stone Mountain Park Laser Light Spectacular.

Ah I found this of the girls doing hand-stands - you can guess which one is which ;o) Alison is preparing for exams at the moment whilst Johanan and Alexi will be into revision for written exams soon. Melody will be off tomorrow to join Johanan in England.
My friend Wayne informed me that he will be playing with the NYSJE at the Dour Festival during their European Tour 2010 - the group last played at Dour in 2007. You can have a look at pics from 2007 in link below

Voici le Festival chrétien d'Atlanta

Alison is preparing for exams at the moment whilst Johanan and Alexi will be into revision for written exams soon. Melody will be off tomorrow to join Johanan in England.

FAMILY NEWS

Here is another tomato with chilli sauce label produced by my dad ;o)My dad brought out a range of products when he had his own business including prawn crackers, different sauces, , dried shrimp produce, laquered trays portraying chinese watercolour landscapes, bamboo, pandas, fish (which featured many subjects which he later featured in his paintings)! Speaking of China, there is a possibility that Alison will work for a time in China if the opportunity arises following her chinese/english masters degree. Melody will be off shortly to join Johanan in England and Alexi is trying to finish off the remaining sports tests before preparing for the written exams. Johanan is creating a french-speaking site for CBN Europe christian television and has been sifting through french-speaking christian artists, including the belgian group "Polyfonia" which I used a few years ago in the youth event at the Mons Uni auditorium ;o)


MILKA or DAIRY MILK is the question and this is the opinion of a Dairy mik lover ;o)

Voici une autre étiquette de la sauce tomate pimentée produite par mon père ;o)Mon père a sorti une gamme de produits dans le cadre de son commerce tels que des beignets aux crevettes, diverses sauces, différents arrticles aux crevettes séchés, des plateaux portant des scènes typiquement chinoises, des images de bamboo, pandas, poissons (plusieurs sujets reapparaîtront dans ses tableaux plus tard)! En parlant de la Chine, il est possible qu'Alison travaille en Chine si l'occasion se présente une fois qu'elle ait terminé son masters en chinois/anglais. Melody part bientôt en Angleterre pour rejoindre Johanan. Alexi tente de terminer les disciplines sportives restantes avant de passer les examens écrites. Johanan est en train de créer un site francophone pour la télévision chrétienne CBN Europe. Il fait un trie actuellement de tous les groupes chrétiens francophones, y inclus le groupe belge "Polyfonia", que j'ai invité à participer à la convention de jeunes à Mons il y a quelques années déjà ;o)
