Johanan's theatre finished on the 5th March when eight of us went to see him ;o) Sascha and Noa are back in Geneva. Ruth, Robin and family are in Geneva with Alison. Wow wow wow - check out the NEW discipline at Vancouver 2010 for the first time called SKI-CROSS - where the big men come flying over the slopes four at a time and trying to jostle for position! Watch the video
here or watch it on TV. Even past olypic skiers are going, "what is that?!" ;o) It is sort of motor-cross or trial-bikes on snow where they come leaping over the mountains in a group. Very spectacular!

Waow waow waow - voici le tout NOUVEAU TRUC à Vancouver 2010 pour la première fois appelé SKI-CROSS - où les costauds s'envolent sur les pentes en groupes de quatre et se bouculent pour trouver une position gagnante! Regardez la vidéo

I was reading more about Desmond Tutu's life following the anniversary celebrations of Nelson Mandela's release and whether you agree with his christian theology or not, Archbishop Tutu is quite a character! In fact, Mandela stayed with him on the first night of his release. More in english

"dARk cLOuDs"

I can see the dark clouds in the sky

shutting out the sunshine

I wonder why

I can see the clouds of darkness

moving in our world

the clouds in all the minds of men,

women, boys and girls

and there's no hope of light in this world

the prince of darkness has come

he wants to make captives of everyone

why has man become good

why has cheating become cool

and when has lies become wise

cos there is no truth in their eyes

but there are no surprises anymore

you can do all things forget about the score

there are no responsabilities

to husbands, wives, children,

do what you please

I can see the sadness in the children's minds

when they have to choose between their parents

don't you think it's all a bit unkind

but that's the way of life you say

as long as they understand it's ok

but then you look in their hearts and

see the hurt that will not part

and can you look into their souls

and see the trust that will never

be whole

when men are double dealing

they steal each others wives

and you are you surprised

are you surprised to see their children

treating their friends with lots of lies

Spirit come and blows away darkness

that's hidden by the clouds of fear

agissant dans notre monde

FAMILY NEWS
I thought I would put two pictures here. one shows Alexi and Lizzie in the "pedalos" (pedal-boats) on the lake in Belgium some time ago. As you can see, Alexi and Lizzie were younger, and Lizzie had the life-jacket more or less around her neck and was out of sight as she was virtually horizontal trying to reach the pedals ;o)
This pic shows Lizzie with one of my baby pigeons at that time but don't exist anymore!

NOUVELLES DE LA FAMILLE
J'ai décidé de mettre deux images ici. La première montre Alexi et Lizzie dans un "PEDALO®" sur le lac en Belgique. Vous pouvez constater qu'ils étaient plus jeunes au point où Lizzie n'arrivait pas à atteindre les pédales sauf en position horizontale. En plus, son gilet de sauvetage se trouvait autour de son cou ;o)

J'ai remarqué que la Grande Bretagne a gagné une première médaille dans la disciple "skeleton" dames - ça semble assez dangereux! Vous verrez la vidéo de vancouver présentant le skeleton
ici. Il parait que les friteries en Angleterre utilisent les poisson-chat péchés dans la rivière "Mékong" au lieu de cabillaud dans les plats de "fish and chips" ce qui fait scandale. Le cabillaud se trouve à gauche dans l'image. L'article se trouve

Christianity Mag has done a top ten of the "most redeeming films" of 2009

The word "redeeming" is used to describe a theme or several elements in the film which point to a redeemer figure who saves. You may not agree ;o) 1. Up - It's got talking dogs piloting fighter planes and a house that floats to South America on the strength of a thousand balloons, but the most outrageous thing about Up? It's a summer blockbuster that's head-over-heels for the joys of marriage. Here lifelong commitment isn't a burden; it's an adventure. 2. The Blind Side -The Touhys, a well-to-do white family, can't ignore the needs of a homeless African-American boy. Instead of just lending a hand, they make him family. This real-life story of NFL player Michael Oher shows a great example of Christian compassion. We can't save the world, but we can love the ones God puts in our path.3. Invictus - This is much more than just another sports movie or "another Clint Eastwood awards season movie." It's a beautiful portrait of forgiveness and a model for how reconciliation can happen in reality, and how politics can employ things like sports and poetry in the service of national renewal.4. The Road - Despite the bleak and sometimes terrifying post-apocalyptic milieu, this film—based on the book by Cormac McCarthy—stands out from other recent end-times flicks in its tenacious, audacious insistence on hope in the midst of darkness. Plus it's one of the most loving father-son relationships ever depicted on the big screen.5. The Soloist - This true tale of the unlikely relationship between a newspaper columnist and a musically gifted, mentally ill homeless man is a testament to the power of friendship. There are no easy answers here and the homeless problem among the mentally ill is clearly epidemic, but for both of these men, care and companionship are transformative.6. Where the Wild Things Are - Jonze reimagines Maurice Sendak's tale of high-spirited rebellion as a meditation on childhood insecurity in a messy world in which nothing—families, forests, even the Sun—lasts forever. Wild Things knows both a child's drowning sense of trying to hold together a broken family and the comfort of a mother's embrace, a calm center in a storm of uncertainty.7. District 9 - Using aliens and spaceships, District 9 actually gives new perspective on humans—their ugliness, racism, and greedy self-preservation. Perhaps because it shows a realistically dark world, we can see what shines. And because the main character is a complex mash-up of good and evil, his ultimate redemptive choice is powerful. 8. The Hurt Locker - A group of soldiers spend their days in combat and their nights shooting it out in video games; they see violence as macho and cool, but we see it as a deadly addiction. A lot of war movies turn our hearts to anger, but this one fills us with compassion for the people whose lives are caught in the crossfire.

Le magazine "Christianity Mag" a établi un top 10 des films les plus "rédemptifs" de 2009

Le mot "rédemptif" pour signifier que le thème du film ou plusieurs idées dans le film révèle un personnage rédemptif ou salvateur qui vient sauver. Vous ne serez peut-être pas d'accord ;o) 1. Up - L'histoire incluent des chiens qui partent vers l'Amérique du Sud portés par 1000 ballons ... mais le thème visé est l'importance du mariage et surtout l'engagement à vie! Un film d'aventure. 2. The Blind Side -Les "Touhys", une famille blanche, est bien consciente des besoins d'un garçon noir. Au lieu de juste donner un coup de main, le garçon est intégré dans leur famille. L'histoire vraie du footballeur Michael Oher est un exemple de la compassion chrétienne. Nous ne pouvons pas sauver le monde mais nous pouvons aimer ceux que Dieu met sur notre chemin. 3. District 9 - Le film emploie des aliens, des vaisseaux spatiaux ... mais révèle le côté noir de l'humanité tels que le racisme, l'avarice, l'égoïsme ... Le personnage central face au choix du bon et du mauvais doit se tourner vers le côté lumineux et rejeter les ténèbres pour réaliser son rôle salvateur. 8. The Hurt Locker - Un groupe de soldats se battent pendant la journée et jouent aux jeux vidéos en soirée. Ils pensent que la violence est cool. Le film nous invite étrangement à avoir de la compassion pour ceux qui sont plus victimes de leur situation.

This is a cartoon in the belgian daily on the theme of Vancouver 2010. The snow and ice have torn up much of belgians motorway system and I can testify to the fact that the cartoon does NOT exaggerate the fact that driving is requires nearly as much skill as the downhill slalom skiers employ
Melody is back from Geneva. Alexi and myself fought againt the snow and ice to get to the airport ;o) Not quite so bad! Ruth (my sis) and Robin and family will visit Alison soon. NOUVELLES DE LA FAMILLE
Voici une image caricaturée dans le journal en Belgique des jeux à Vancouver 2010. La neige a tellement dégradé les autoroutes que le dessinateur a comparé le slalom aux jeux olympiques d'hiver à Vancouver aux autoroutes belge. En effet, je suis d'accord avec le fait qu'il faut posséder autant de technique pour manoeuvrer sur les autoroutes que lors du slalom ;o)!
Melody est revenue de Genève. Alexi et moi-même avons lutté contre la neige et le froid pour aller à l'aéroport ;o) En fait il faisait pas trop mauvais! Ruth (ma soeur) et Robin et leur famille rendent visite à Alison bientôt. voici quelques liens pour Johanan avec son stage chez CBN tv sa pîèce du théâtre "la nuit des rois" (Shakespeare) avec les réservations ici suivi par un
